A second colored version. It’s not perfect, but I like it much better than my previous rainbowsplosion. Thanks to everyone who gave me feedback, it really helped me figure out what to do with this thing. The lines have been darkened to help the digital merge with the traditional, and how the colorsplosion has a unified color theme going for it. I am so ready to call this done.
Inks done! I’m going to try and… apply color, probably in Photoshop because I’m bad with color and don’t want to risk ruining it forever. Thanks for all the love this has gotten so far, it’s really encouraging. C:
Nom ; ink on paper, digital coloring.
Let me tell you all the derpy story of why I didn’t update yesterday.
My brother sometimes mentions that there’s a ghost in the house, and claims that it’ll knock on his door every once in a while. I don’t really believe in that sort of stuff, so I always roll my eyes and shrug it off. Last night, though, I was making tea downstairs so that I could finish doing this art thing (procrastinating, as usual), when he came down to talk to me.
“Did you knock on my door?” he asks. I said no, because I hadn’t been up there. He tells me that something was knocking on his door again. I was all, “Yeah, yeah…” because I figured it was a cat or something, but he didn’t believe it. He said it was that ghost of his. So I go back upstairs with my tea and close my door and start working again.
Now, while I don’t believe in ghosts, I do spook easily. Like, really easily. Like, I can’t watch most horror movies without being frightened that every noise I hear for days after that will kill me. While I’m inking in the background to that dinosaur one, I hear the door to my brother’s room knocking back and forth in its frame.
The door is loose, my brain supplies. It’s probably just the wind from his open window. My door gets slammed closed by the wind all the time. But before any of that soundly kicks in, my paranoia kicks in with OH SHIT, IT’S COMING FOR ME NEXT.
And so I spent my night too scared to wander outside of my room and get to the scanner. I kept watching my cat to see if she was freaking out, since I’d imagine that cats would be good alarms against ghosts and things like that. I won’t start freaking out too badly until she’s skittering away or hissing at the door.
It occurred to me, around 2am, that I could have just taken a picture and updated with that, but by then it was 2am and I figured that it was technically the next day anyway, so. Here I am. I made double the intended images to try and make it up to you guys, with the ghost tile being inspired by my locking myself in my room out of fear.
Also, I’m 21 years old. In case you were wondering.
